The Carse Manuscripts

David Carse (1874 - 1964) was a farmer from Carse's Hill, Magherscouse a few miles north-east of Ballygowan in East Down. He learned to play the fiddle from John Simpson (1836 - 1921), where he also learnt to read and write standard musical notation.
